What lesbian wasn’t in love with (i.e. wanted to do ) Cher in the 1970’s just as much as the love for Jolie came about in the 1990’s? I (Wife) was a young child during the Sony and Cher show days but I used to be glued to the set knowing that Cher was the sexiest woman I would ever lay eyes on. Jolie didn’t even hold a candle to Cher for me but she was my second choice for fantasy girl in the 90’s.

I have always been very proud of how supportive Cher was with Chastity when she came out as a “Lesbian” at age 18. Chastity was born March 4, 1969 a few months before my own birth of August 26, 1969 so I think I always identified with her because she was so close to my age. Today I find myself supportive but confused. Supportive because of the courage it takes to be in the spotlight and go through this change, and confused because as I approach 40 I am realizing that it truely is middle age and I would never want to undertake the begining of life again. I wonder why Chastity waited so long to “transition” to the next phase of her (prior to 3,4,09) his (after 3,4,09) life.
For those of you now confused about what I am talking about;

It has been reported that upon turning 40 (yes im close to it myself) Chastity Bono announced that she is not to be called Chastity Bono any longer that she is to be called Chaz Bono because “HE” is in the midst of transitioning to be fully transgendered FTM (female to male).
I tip my hat to you Chaz for being so brave to not only be your authentic self but continue your public work as a GLBT rights advocate. Our community is not always welcoming to our trans brothers and sisters, when they decide to “come out” but im here to tell you we should embrace our entire community, not just our Gay and Lesbian brothers and sisters. So Chastity we will miss you, but Chaz welcome to the world, and public boy birthday!
Howard Bragman a representative for Chaz said in a statement;
“Chaz, after many years of consideration, has made the courageous decision to honor his true identity,”
“He is proud of his decision and grateful for the support and respect that has already been shown by his loved ones,” Bragman’s statement continued. “It is Chaz’s hope that his choice to transition will open the hearts and minds of the public regarding this issue, just as his ‘coming out’ did nearly 20 years ago.”
“We ask that the media respect Chaz’s privacy during this long process as he will not be doing any interviews at this time.”
We hope that when Chaz is ready for an interview, we will be on the list of interviewees.
All I can say as the femme of this duo is Chastity the “Butch” will be missed by me, (SHE WAS HOT, and another Bono I could lust over.) but Chaz is always welcome in my rainbow community.

I was browsing cafe press and found that there is someone selling tons of gay pride I support Chaz items. http://www.cafepress.com/iChaz
We think it is great that someone is thinking of ways to support Chaz, BUT….. Is it right that someone makes money off the internal struggle of another? It would be great if they were selling them to support Chaz’s fav charity or something but do we know if they are doing that? We worry when others capitalize off the fame and fortune or miss fortune of others.
But it is the American way to be entrepreneurial isn’t it?

We aim to please, and it is so nice to know that we have such a positive effect on someone such as you, with such moral fiber that we have given you a new diet plan (tossing your salad). Now if a new diet plan was not your intention, why in the world would you go out of your way and waste you precious time (that you probably should be using to job hunt or make a dentist appointment for new teeth) to let us know how horrible we are.
Now honestly, do we affect your day that much or were you fascinated by the Chaz Bono story and needed more information? It is always surprising how homophobic people are so fascinated by we gays that they seek us out and when their voyeurism is complete they have to tell us how they hate us…..hmmm….are you secretly Bi – Curious? Well if you are honey, no worries we can help you out, we are famous lesbian advice columnists after all. Just ask us a question we will keep your name out of it so you can stay anonymous, but homophobic of yourself is a hard way to live so please dearie come out of your painful closet, or better yet wait till national coming out day rather than pride month.
